Challenge:

The healthcare research company required a scalable, secure IAM system that could manage approximately 40,000 external users and 8,000 internal users. The system needed to handle sensitive healthcare data while ensuring compliance with strict security protocols. Additionally, the client was looking to migrate their governance stack and integrate Single Sign-On (SSO) with several applications, as well as modernize their existing Oracle-based IAM system.

Solution:

Oracle I&AM 11gR2 PS2 Implementation: We started by implementing Oracle Identity and Access Management (I&AM) 11gR2 PS2. This provided the foundation to manage user identities, roles, and permissions across a wide range of applications and systems, ensuring secure and streamlined access for both internal and external users.
Upgrade to Oracle I&AM 11gR2 PS3: As part of the upgrade, we transitioned the system to Oracle I&AM 11gR2 PS3, incorporating the latest security features, performance improvements, and compliance enhancements. This allowed for greater scalability and enhanced user management.
Custom Workflows, Adapters, and Jobs: To cater to specific business needs, we created custom workflows, adapters, and jobs that automated various identity and access management tasks. These workflows ensured smooth user provisioning, password management, and compliance reporting.
Self-Service Portal Integration: A crucial part of the implementation was integrating the I&AM system with the company’s Self-Service Portal. This enabled users to independently manage their accounts, reset passwords, and request access to applications, reducing IT support overhead and improving user experience.
Federated SSO with Multiple Applications: We configured Federated Single Sign-On (SSO) to allow seamless authentication across multiple applications, providing users with a unified access experience. This significantly reduced login friction and enhanced security by consolidating user credentials.
Migration to Saviynt and Azure: As part of the client’s strategic move toward cloud-based solutions, we facilitated the migration of their entire governance stack from Oracle to Saviynt. We also transitioned their SSO infrastructure to Azure, ensuring a more scalable and secure cloud environment for identity management. This migration provided the client with better flexibility, enhanced integration capabilities, and a more modern, cloud-native approach to IAM.

With our comprehensive IAM solution, the healthcare research company has successfully managed its vast user base, ensuring secure and compliant access to sensitive healthcare data. The integration of the Self-Service Portal, SSO, and cloud migration to Azure and Saviynt has streamlined their IAM processes and improved operational efficiency.
